Music faculty at two local public schools select their most talented and dedicated students each year and 1308 Productions presents each one with the Bob Novack Music Award and a scholarship check to recognize them and inspire their continued achievement.

The 2015 award winners are Leonardo Tedesco at Nautilus Middle School and Tobias Pagliaroli at RKB Bay Harbor K-8 Center.

Leonardo Tedesco is an outstanding music student, a skilled bass guitarist, and a devoted assistant to the music program at Nautilus Middle School. Legendary music teacher Ray Modia said that “Leonardo has been a great asset to our band; he practices hard, helps his peers in all respects, and plans to become a professional musician.” Leonardo has also been instrumental in helping to set up for all school concert and events, always being there to help in any way possible. He will be going on to Beach High to continue his education and development of his musical skills.

At Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary, the award winner in 2015 is Tobias Pagliaroli. “Tobi has been the First Chair Violin in our orchestra since he was in the 6th grade!”, said renowned music teacher Onil Rodriguez. “He is a great musician and a great young man,” he added. Tobias helps tune the orchestra, is a featured soloist, and is an enthusiastic mentor to younger students. He has performed publicly many times including at All State and the Florida Youth Symphony. “I am a better teacher for having Tobi in my classes and ensembles,” said Mr. Rodriguez.

The award winners were congratulated by their teachers, and by former mayor Paul Novack, son of the late Bob Novack, after whom the awards are named. The winners were applauded by packed house audiences including their families, friends, and community officials.

Each year the Bob Novack Music Awards are presented at both Nautilus Middle School and Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 School. The award is given in memory of the late Bob Novack, a life-long musician, band leader and music educator. Mr. Novack performed with famous bands throughout the United States including the Glenn Miller Band, and he led the Bob Novack Orchestras in South Florida for four decades.
